We had a great stay. It was a beautiful studio with everything we needed, and we felt right at home. The space was enormous and incredibly good value. The huge bath was great for relaxing in the evenings.

A luxury and spotlessly clean apartment in a great location, close to the tram to Central Edinburgh and close to Leith links park and waterways. Had a lovely stay with family for half term.

I was delighted to find these apartments in the heart of Leith. They are exceptionally well modernised but in keeping with the history of the building. There are little touches that set it apart.Communications were excellent and when we had a minor issue, it was resolved quickly and professionally.I only wish we could have stayed longer. The tram is close by so heading into the city is easy.I highly recommend 89 The Merchants to anyone who prefers an authentic and memorable apartment over a soulless hotel. This is hands down my favourite Booking.com find in the 6 weeks we have been travelling as a family, and I will definitely be back in tbe future.

Leith is where Edinburgh’s maritime heritage meets its contemporary creative energy. Once the city’s historic port, the district has evolved into one of its most characterful and design-conscious neighbourhoods — defined by stone warehouses, waterfront promenades and an exceptional independent dining scene.

Set along The Shore and the marina, Leith offers a more considered pace than the city centre, while remaining just minutes from Edinburgh’s most recognisable landmarks. The Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle are within easy reach, yet here the atmosphere feels residential, refined and distinctly local.

It is an area shaped by history but defined by modern living — where heritage buildings now house Michelin-starred restaurants, artisan studios and thoughtfully curated interiors.

House of Danu’s luxury apartments in Leith reflect this balance. Clean architectural lines sit alongside original textures and period detail, creating spaces that feel calm, elevated and quietly distinctive. Designed for guests who value both craftsmanship and comfort, they offer a refined alternative to traditional hotels — with the privacy and freedom to experience Edinburgh on your own terms.
