Uath Lochans is one of the prettiest woodlands in the area, with an easy trail around the lochans or a longer route up to a superb view over Strathspey.
They are perfect for a wild swim, though definitely remember a towel and warm, dry clothes for the walk back!

Loch an Eilein is gorgeous. Its waters reflect the beautiful landscape surrounding it – the striking pine forests of the Rothiemurchus Estate forest and the Cairngorm mountain range. A ruined island castle lies in the middle of the loch, adding to the dramatic scenery.
In the Summer, ospreys nest in the castle’s ruins and leisurely walking the 3-mile (5 K) circular walk, you often encounter red squirrels or hear the distinctive noise of woodpeckers hunting for food.
